WordPress Boost – Core & Plugin Updates
WordPress Website Tune UP
WordPress Boost is useful for websites coming onboard for a WPcare plan, or for older sites needing a one-off ‘boost’ to gain a performance improvement. This update addresses tasks that typically appear when bringing an older site up to par.
Some plugins and themes may not be compatible with the current release of WordPress. In that case, the latest acceptable version will be installed on your website. If your plugins are not compatible with the current release of WordPress, we will offer recommendations for replacement.
Service Detail
- Update WordPress core software and plugins to the latest versions.
- We will roll back to previous versions if there are any issues.
- Premium plugins with no license will need to have once purchased for updates.
- Update WordPress theme to the latest version if possible.
- We will roll back to previous versions if there are any issues.
- The premium theme must have an active license to update.
- Run full security and full performance scans.
- Fix the small issues or bugs resulting from WordPress and plugin updates.
- If discovered, larger issues that need to be addressed will be detailed in a separate quote outside of the scope of this service.
- Fix any issues requested by you, the client that can be accomplished within 2-hour timeframe.
- Make a full backup.
- A full backup will be stored by Cap Web Solutions for 1 year. (There is a fee if you are not on a monthly care plan and ever need us to restore the backup.)
- This backup will also be available to the client as an archive download.
WordPress Evaluation – Maintenance, Review, and Path Forward
Complete WordPress Website Update for Core, plugins, and theme – Punch List for larger scope tasks
WordPress Evaluation is targeted at websites that may not have been updated for some time and are looking for more substantial maintenance and evaluation. This service provides complete maintenance service plus an extensive report outlining the complete current state of the website. The evaluation report can be used as a punch-list of tasks to be completed over the coming months as a subscriber to a WPcare plan.
Some plugins and themes may not be compatible with the current release of WordPress. In that case, the latest acceptable version will be installed on your website. If your plugins are not compatible with the current release of WordPress, we will offer recommendations for replacement.
Service Detail
- A review by our team of your WordPress theme and plugins for improvements and action items.
- A full report of all data found for suggestions and improvements to the website.
- This report will be presented on a 30-minute strategy call reviewing and explaining all the issues, action items, and possible improvements.
- We will update WordPress to the latest version as well as all plugins
- Updates will be carried out first on a staging site, then after Evaluation on the live site
- If you have premium plugins that require licenses to be updated, we will bring this to your attention and will include this in the report
- Perform full security and full performance scans
- After the Evaluation and live update on the website, we will fix the small issues or bugs resulting from WordPress and plugin updates
- If larger issues are discovered that need to be addressed, we will detail them in a separate quote outside of the scope of this service.
- Install security measures and optimize settings (if the hosting server allows)
- Will accommodate additional requests possible within a 2-hour timeframe. Action items that do not fit in this time frame will be provided in a separate quote.
- Make a full backup of the website

- This backup will also be available to you as a download. Please store in a safe place.

Policy Background
What is data privacy and why does your business need to be concerned?
Several privacy laws are now in place to protect the personal information of residents of certain states with fines that can reach $2,500-$7,500 per website visitor. Examples of personal information include asking for a name and email on a contact form or using a website analytics tool (like Google Analytics).
More and more states are proposing their own privacy laws as well. In the US, there are 23 state privacy bills (and more are expected). Some of these bills would enable citizens to sue businesses for having a contact form without an updated Privacy Policy. Several of these state bills make note that businesses of any size and any location will have to comply or may face fines or lawsuits, which is why you need to be aware of what’s going on.,/p>
What can you do to get protected?
To be proactive about this issue, Cap Web Solutions has partnered up with a Privacy Policy generator called Termageddon. They will automatically update your website policies when the laws change (as well as notify you when changes are coming), and they do it at a fraction of the cost of a privacy attorney.
If Termageddon sounds like a good solution, the license costs $119/year (or $12/monthly). Cap Web Solutions charges a one-time setup fee of $99 to help create the policy pages, insert/test the code on your website and ensure your policies stay up to date with changes to the law.
